What I love about my job is that I get to teach children new things everyday.
However, on occasion a child teaches me something new and that is even better.
A few years back a student taught me how to make friendship bracelets in a way I would have never thought. It was so easy I started teaching other children as young a 5 and once they got started they would not stop.

- draw a circle
- using the ruler divide the circle into 8 sections & punch a hole in the center of the circle.
- cut out the circle and then cut about 1/2 inch up each line that your drew
- Cut 7 24inch strains of string & tie them up at one end
- feed the loose ends through the hole you punch in the middle of the circle
- tuck each strand of string into each of the slits you cut out, there should be 1 slit without a strand.
- holding the circle with the empty slit facing you, count up three places counter clockwise. take that 3rd string and move it to the empty slit.
- rotate the circle so that the new empty slit is facing you and like before count up 3 places and repeat
- once your bracelet has reached your desired length, remove the strands of string from their slit and pull it through the hole.
- tie it off. that's it, you have made a friendship bracelet to share.
