"Now I know my ABC''s, next time won't you sing with me." Just about everyone know's the alphabet song. It is one of the first songs we're taught in education, it's used to learn the alphabet in multiple languages, and I personally still find myself singing it as an adult on some occasions.
Songs are used throughout education as learning tools to remember facts. There's a song about the fifty states, the US presidents, and there's even a song to learn the books of the Bible. According to bbc.com, "Music helps because it provides a rhythm and rhyme and sometimes alliteration which helps to unlock that information with cues. It is the structure of the song that helps us to remember it, as well as the melody and the images of the words provoked." It's no wonder songs have been created to learn about all subjects of education for multiple grade levels. Here are just a few examples of what's out there for each subject:
