3 Creative Indoor Games to make for Preschoolers
Below are some great, brain games
to make at home and play with your preschooler.
1# Bingo Game. Make
Bingo games to increase letter and number recognition. This is a fun, easy game
to make with your child. You will need
several pieces of 9 x 6 construction paper from an activity pad, a ruler and a
pack of stickers. If you have a computer
and a printer you can always print off a Bingo template, if not you can free
draw your Bingo cards. Playing Bingo increases uppercase letter recognition and
number recognition, which is an important skills preschoolers need before
starting Kindergarten.
#2. Memory Game. Make memory card games to teach number
and letter recognition as well as increase memorization and problem solving
skills. You will need cardstock or construction paper, stickers, paint,
crayons, markers or magazines. You can
make up to 12 to 24 cards. Use your
imagination by using stickers, paint patterns or include uppercase letters,
lowercase letters, or numbers. You can use magazines to cut out matching
pictures or small words. This is a great
activity to make together.
#3. Flash Cards. Make academic-focused flashcards to help children
prepare for kindergarten. If you do not have any flash cards at
home, this would be a great project to do with your child. If you have index cards (use the back of the
card that does not have the lines), card stock, or construction paper, then you
are set! Use magazines to cut out simple pictures of food or other items and put
the first letter of that word next to the picture for letter recognition. Some
types of flashcards you might make are color flashcards, alphabet flashcards,
shape flashcards, and sight word flashcards.
